Summary:
The Mortgage Clerk I supports the mortgage department by performing various administrative tasks related to mortgage loan processing, documentation and customer service.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Assists in preparing and organizing mortgage loan files.

Reviews and verifies the accuracy of loan applications and supporting documentation.

Inputs loan information into the appropriate systems accurately.

Responds to basic inquiries from customers, loan officers and other departments regarding mortgage applications and loan statuses.

Provides basic updates to customers on their loan applications and answers questions related to the mortgage process, as able.

Maintains professionalism and a positive attitude while assisting customers.

Inputs and updates customer information and loan data into the Bank’s software system.

Maintains organized an accurate records of mortgage files and documentation.
-
Performs general office tasks such as filing, scanning and copying documents.

Assists in generating reports as required by management.

Updates and maintains required logs, timely and accurately.

Works closely with loan officers and other team members to ensure the timely and accurate processing of mortgage loans.

Communicates effectively with internal and external customers.

Ensures compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.

Participates in team meetings and training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills.

Participates in and promotes teamwork with the department as well as bank-wide.

Completes annual required training within communicated timeframes.

Performs other duties as required or requested.
Requirements:
Education & Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in business or related field is a plus.

Strong attention to detail with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Fluent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Outlook).

Ability to maintain confidentiality; handle sensitive information with discretion.
