This is an opportunity to become the first face people see when they visit one of Atlanta's most unique creative spaces.
Who We Are
The Poetry Parlor is Atlanta's newest literary sanctuary, located directly on the Atlanta Beltline. We've created a warm, intimate space where poetry isn't something you only read in books—it's something you experience live.
People from all over the city stop in to watch poets create original poems on the spot. Whether someone is celebrating an anniversary, grieving a loss, planning a proposal, or simply looking for a beautiful experience, we help turn life's moments into lasting works of art.
As we continue to grow, we're looking for someone who can help create an experience that feels welcoming, safe, and organized from the moment guests arrive.
What You'll Do
You'll be the first person guests interact with when they walk through our doors.
Responsibilities include:
- Greeting guests with warmth and professionalism
- Answering questions about the Poetry Parlor, our services, and upcoming events
- Processing admissions, ticket sales, merchandise, and other payments
- Monitoring the entrance and ensuring the space remains secure
- Helping direct guests and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere
- Communicating with staff throughout the evening and assisting wherever needed
This isn't a traditional security position, but we are looking for someone with a security mindset—someone who is observant, confident, and comfortable enforcing policies respectfully while making guests feel welcome.
Who You Are
- Dependable and punctual
- Friendly, approachable, and professional
- Comfortable talking with new people
- Observant and detail-oriented
- Able to handle payments accurately
- Calm under pressure
- Experience in hospitality, concierge, customer service, front desk, or security is a plus.
Who You're Not
Someone who is unreliable, rude, constantly on their phone, easily distracted, or unwilling to take initiative. We're a small business, and every team member plays an important role in creating an unforgettable experience for our guests.
Hours
Approximately 15 hours per week, primarily Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings.
Pay
$10/hour.
If you enjoy hospitality, love meeting new people, and want to be part of one of Atlanta's newest creative spaces, we'd love to hear from you. Tell us a little about yourself and any relevant experience when you apply.
Pay: $10.00 - $15.00 per hour
