Description: NCT / LMRT
Job Purpose: Taking X-rays; Helps patients and providers by providing information, services, and assistance to the physicians or physician assistants.
Reports to: Office Manager
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
· Taking X-rays and ensuring correct x-ray is taken for each patient.
· Maintain board licensure for NCT / LMRT and following all rules and regulations as presented on the dshs.tx.org website and Texas medical board sites. Must follow all rules of NCT requirements on xray techniques and allowable.
· Learning specific techniques of each physician and how they prefer their x-rays to be taken for quality assurance.
· Testing the machine quarterly and ensuring calibration is correct. Inspecting the aprons monthly and ensuring no tears or other defects.
· Verifies patient information by interviewing patients; recording medical history in the EMR system; confirming purpose of visit.
· Communicating with back office to ensure patient who have had x-rays are not “lost” and are appropriately accounted for in each room.
· Streamlining processes of the back office and x-ray
· Helps MAs/OPAs in clinic when needed by preparing injections, ultrasound and taking information from patients and entering in the EMR system; and communicating what was done to MAs/OPAs
· Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records, keeping patient information confidential.
· Counsels patients by transmitting physician's orders and questions about their visits.
· Maintains safe, secure, and a healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
· Keeps supplies ready by doing a regular inventory of x-ray stock; if any.
· Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
· Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; keeping certifications current.
· Serves and protects the orthopaedic practice by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.
· Enhances practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
· Answering messages and tasks in a timely manner.
· Maintaining Professionalism at all times
· Help to streamline processes in the back office to formulate teamwork and better communication channels.
· Answering phone calls when not in clinic
· Watching MU data each day to ensure passing scores; communicate with back office on things they are not passing.

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
