Job Title: Senior Business Development Manager – Life Sciences (Industrial Automation & Engineering Services)
Location: Raleigh, NC (Remote/Hybrid Considered)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Business Development professional to drive growth within the Life Sciences industry. This role is focused on developing strategic customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and selling Engineering Services, Industrial Automation, Smart Manufacturing, Systems Integration, Operational Technology (OT), and Digital Transformation solutions.
The successful candidate will manage strategic accounts, build executive-level relationships, and lead complex sales cycles from prospecting through contract execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute business development strategies within the Life Sciences sector.
- Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and regulated manufacturing companies.
- Manage strategic accounts and drive account growth initiatives.
- Own the complete sales cycle from prospecting and qualification through proposal development, negotiation, and close.
- Build relationships with key stakeholders, decision-makers, and executive leadership teams.
- Collaborate with engineering, automation, systems integration, and delivery teams to develop customer-focused solutions.
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipeline activity, and account plans using CRM tools.
- Participate in industry events, networking opportunities, and customer meetings to expand market presence.
- Achieve and exceed annual sales targets and growth objectives.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of sales, business development, or account management experience.
- Experience selling Engineering Services, Industrial Automation, Systems Integration, Smart Manufacturing, OT, Digital Transformation, MES, Manufacturing IT, or related technical services.
- Experience supporting Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, or regulated manufacturing customers.
- Proven track record of developing new business and managing strategic customer accounts.
- Experience leading complex enterprise sales cycles and engaging executive stakeholders.
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM platforms.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Pay: $120,000.00 - $185,000.00 per year
