Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated person to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be essential in producing high-precision aerospace and IGT components for power generation by operating, and adjusting machine tooling, fixtures, and programs. Your expertise in machining processes and technical troubleshooting will play a key role in ensuring high-quality output and efficient production workflows.
Our production department offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced manufacturing equipment, including retrofitted 5-axis CBN grind machines, CNC milling machines, RAM EDM machines, speed hole machines, and CMM systems. You’ll contribute to innovative projects in a low-volume, high-precision manufacturing environment.
Shift: 2nd shift (3:00PM - 11:30PM) or 3rd shift (11:00PM - 7:30AM).
Responsibilities
- Machine part to a fixed process using CNC machining centers, CNC EDM machinery, Campbell Grinders, ONA RAM EDM’s, Beaumont or CHMER Speed Hole EDM units.
- Operate and adjust machine tooling, CBN grinding wheels , fixtures, and programs on 5-axis CBN Grinders. Running multiple machines at a time.
- Collaborate with production, quality, and the team lead to optimize workflow.
- Read blueprints and follow process books to determine product specifications, machine parameters, and tooling instructions.
- Observe machine operation to detect part defects or machine malfunctions, adjusting machines as necessary.
- Troubleshoot machine programs and adjust off sets.
- Must be capable of using inspection equipment such as surface plate, height gauges, indicators, micrometers, calipers, hole gauges.
- Preferred proficiency in operating CMM machines and interpreting CMM reports.
- Ability to understand and complete inspection logs per Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.
- Communicate with machine operators and manufacturing engineers to understand machine priorities.
- Maintain and secure work tools.
- Clean and maintain work area.
Education and Qualifications:
- Proven experience operating CNC machinery
- Familiarity with GD&T standards for precise measurement and quality control.
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to read complex blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Experience with Fanuc controls or similar CNC control systems preferred.
- Basic math skills for calculations related to machining tolerances and measurements.
- Knowledge of safety protocols involving power tools, hand tools, and tooling setups.
- Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation, including occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, pushing/pulling, bending, stooping, and reaching in a manufacturing environment
