Position Summary
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the overall management, leadership, and daily operation of the Shell Lumber Distribution Center. This position oversees receiving, inventory control, shipping, warehouse organization, employee supervision, safety compliance, and facility maintenance. The Warehouse Manager ensures that products are accurately received, stored, and distributed while maintaining high standards of customer service, operational efficiency, and workplace safety.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations
- Direct and oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory management, and shipping activities.
- Ensure incoming and outgoing materials are processed accurately and efficiently.
- Monitor warehouse productivity and implement improvements to maximize efficiency.
- Maintain proper warehouse organization and material storage practices.
- Ensure inventory is properly stocked and available for operational needs.
- Conduct daily inventory audits and investigate discrepancies.
- Coordinate inventory replenishment needs with the Purchasing Department.
- Manage material transfers between company locations.
Customer Service
- Assist customers with product pickups and order fulfillment.
- Resolve customer concerns related to warehouse operations and deliveries.
- Support company initiatives to provide exceptional customer service.
Team Leadership
- Supervise warehouse supervisors, forklift operators, drivers, and warehouse associates.
- Recruit, train, coach, and develop warehouse personnel.
- Schedule staffing to meet operational demands.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback.
- Address employee concerns and administer disciplinary action when necessary.
- Foster a positive, productive, and team-oriented work environment.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and identify corrective actions.
- Train employees on forklift operation, equipment use, and safe work practices.
- Investigate accidents and implement preventive measures.
- Maintain compliance with company security procedures and facility access controls.
Facility Management
- Perform daily inspections of warehouse facilities, equipment, and grounds.
- Coordinate maintenance, repairs, and improvement projects.
- Ensure cleanliness, organization, and operational readiness of the Distribution Center.
- Monitor vendor returns and ensure timely processing.
- Verify completion of daily opening and closing procedures.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5+ years of warehouse, distribution, or logistics management experience.
- 3+ years of supervisory or leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of inventory control, receiving, shipping, and warehouse operations.
- Experience operating forklifts and material handling equipment.
- Valid Florida Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with inventory management software and Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred
- Experience in lumber, building materials, hardware, or construction supply distribution.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
- OSHA safety training or warehouse safety certifications.
- Experience with ERP or warehouse management systems (WMS).

Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, reaching, and lifting.
- Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 100 pounds with or without assistance.
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment and machinery.
Work Environment
The work environment includes warehouse, yard, and outdoor operations. Employees are regularly exposed to moving machinery, forklifts, dust, weather conditions, and construction materials. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required when necessary.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
