Position Summary
Signor Trucking Inc., based in Norfolk, Nebraska, is seeking professional OTR Drivers—both company drivers and owner‑operators operating under their own authority—to haul freight safely and efficiently across regional and national routes. All drivers must maintain full FMCSA compliance and utilize Motive (formerly KeepTruckin) for electronic logging, DVIRs, and communication.
Driver Types Accepted
- Company Drivers — Operate Signor Trucking equipment and follow all company policies, dispatch procedures, and safety standards.
- Owner‑Operators — Must have their own authority, maintain their own equipment, and comply with FMCSA regulations while running freight for Signor Trucking.
Key Responsibilities
- Safe Operation — Operate commercial motor vehicles in accordance with FMCSA, DOT, and company safety policies.
- ELD Compliance — Use Motive’s mobile or web‑based platform to maintain accurate HOS logs.
- Trip Planning — Plan routes, fuel stops, rest breaks, and delivery schedules to ensure timely performance.
- Cargo Securement — Inspect, secure, and protect freight according to DOT securement standards.
- Vehicle Inspections — Complete pre‑trip, en‑route, and post‑trip inspections; report defects immediately.
- Communication — Maintain clear communication with dispatch regarding delays, breakdowns, or route changes.
- Documentation — Submit bills of lading, trip sheets, fuel receipts, and inspection reports promptly.
- Professional Conduct — Represent Signor Trucking with professionalism and respect at all times.
ELD & Motive Requirements
All drivers—company and owner‑operators—must be proficient in Motive for:
- HOS Logging — Driving, on‑duty, sleeper berth, off‑duty, and yard moves.
- DVIRs — Pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections completed through the Motive app.
- Document Upload — Upload BOLs, scale tickets, and other required documents.
- GPS Tracking — Maintain GPS connectivity for routing and compliance.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL
- Clean MVR meeting Signor Trucking safety standards
- Ability to use smartphones/tablets for Motive ELD operations
- Knowledge of FMCSA HOS rules and ELD compliance
- Minimum 1 year OTR experience preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and secure freight
- Strong communication and time‑management skills
Owner‑Operators must also have:
- Active Operating Authority
- Valid DOT/MC numbers
- Proof of insurance meeting FMCSA minimums
- Well‑maintained equipment that meets DOT standards
Work Environment & Expectations
- Extended time on the road, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to adapt to changing schedules, weather, and customer needs
- Maintain a clean, professional appearance
- Follow all company policies, including safety, equipment care, and reporting procedures
