Front Counter Associate

At Ladybird Deli + Bakery, we believe exceptional food deserves exceptional hospitality. We're looking for friendly, energetic, and dependable Front Counter Associates who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and creating memorable experiences for every guest.
This is a hands-on position that combines barista responsibilities, food service, customer interaction, and teamwork throughout the bakery and deli.
Responsibilities
- Prepare espresso drinks, coffee beverages, teas, and specialty drinks
- Greet guests with a welcoming and positive attitude
- Take customer orders accurately using the POS system
- Handle cash, credit card transactions, and end-of-sale customer service
- Build sandwiches and assist with food preparation at the sandwich station
- Package pastries, breads, and bakery items for takeout
- Maintain attractive bakery displays and restock merchandise throughout the day
- Serve breakfast and lunch guests efficiently while maintaining a clean workspace
- Assist with cleaning and maintaining the front counter, dining room, and beverage station
- Work Friday evening Fish Fry dinner service, including serving guests, running food, and providing excellent table service
- Assist with special events as needed
- Follow all food safety and sanitation standards
- Work as part of a team to provide outstanding hospitality
Qualifications
- Friendly, outgoing personality with excellent customer service skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to learn barista techniques and food preparation
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
- Restaurant, café, bakery, or coffee shop experience is preferred but not required—we're happy to train the right person.
Compensation
- $10.70 per hour plus tips
- Special Events: Employees working catered events or off-site functions will be paid $20.00 per hour.
