Custodial Worker:
Haralson County is seeking applications for a dependable, part-time custodial worker to service government buildings. Preference will be given to applicants with dependable transportation and a self-directed work ethic. Haralson County is a drug-free workplace. Applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and a background check, complete with an MVR check of the applicant’s driving history.
Key Responsibilities
Custodial workers are responsible for cleaning numerous county government buildings. This includes providing custodial services to offices, lobbies, hallways, bathrooms, meeting rooms, kitchens, court rooms, and other locations as needed. Cleaning services include but are not limited to sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, wiping down windows and surfaces, emptying trash cans, cleaning sinks and toilets, replacing paper towels and hand soap, and other tasks as needed.
Custodial workers are responsible for utilizing various cleaning chemicals in the course of their duties and will be expected to utilize those chemicals properly, safely, and responsibly.
Custodial workers have access to various offices and will be working around government employees while they are interacting with citizens and employees. Custodial workers will be expected to exercise discretion and to maintain confidentiality at all times.
Position Requirements
Custodial workers must possess a driver’s license and a good driving history with no serious violations or accidents over the last three (3) years as verified by a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
Custodial workers must be able to walk, climb stairs, stand for extended periods of time, stoop, crouch, bend at the waist, reach, stretch, twist, tolerate conditions of dust, lift heavy trash bags and boxes of up to 25lbs, carry buckets, and equipment, and tolerate repetitive movements.
Custodial workers will be expected to work a part-time schedule of 15-25 hours per week ranging in time Monday-Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm.
Compensation
Custodial workers will receive competitive pay of between $13.00-$14.00/hour depending on experience.
Pay: $13.00 - $14.00 per hour
