C-130H AIRCRAFT MECHANIC
POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking experienced C-130H Aircraft Mechanics to support depot-level aircraft maintenance, inspections, scheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and functional testing on C-130H aircraft.
The ideal candidate will have 5–8+ years of experience performing depot-level maintenance on C-130 aircraft or other large cargo aircraft and possess a strong working knowledge of aircraft mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, structural, propulsion, and flight control systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform depot-level maintenance, inspections, scheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, modification, and functional testing on C-130H aircraft.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, adjust, align, install, remove, and replace aircraft systems, assemblies, and components.
- Perform maintenance on major aircraft systems, including:
- Flight control systems
- Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Landing gear systems
- Propulsion and engine-related systems
- Aircraft structures and airframe components
- Electrical systems and wiring
- Aircraft accessories and associated components
- Identify system malfunctions and perform fault isolation, troubleshooting, repair, adjustment, and replacement of aircraft electrical wiring, components, and accessories.
- Perform final functional and operational testing to verify aircraft systems and components meet applicable technical data and operational requirements.
- Conduct depot-level inspections and scheduled maintenance in accordance with applicable technical manuals, maintenance procedures, and engineering data.
- Perform preflight, thru-flight, and basic post-flight inspections.
- Perform aircraft servicing and ground support operations, including refueling/defueling, aircraft jacking, towing, leveling, and related maintenance activities.
- Perform engine removal and installation and other routine aircraft maintenance tasks as required.
- Read, interpret, and understand aircraft technical data, maintenance manuals, wiring diagrams, schematics, cockpit instrumentation, gauges, and system indications.
- Utilize specialized tooling, test equipment, precision measuring instruments, and aircraft ground support equipment to perform maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and ensure all work is completed in accordance with applicable safety, quality, and maintenance standards.
- Support overtime and alternate shift requirements as needed to meet operational and production demands.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5–8+ years of aircraft maintenance experience supporting C-130 aircraft or other large cargo aircraft.
- Demonstrated experience performing depot-level aircraft maintenance and inspections.
- Strong knowledge of aircraft systems, including:
- Hydraulics
- Electrical systems
- Flight controls
- Aircraft structures
- Engines and propulsion systems
- Landing gear and associated systems
- Experience troubleshooting, repairing, adjusting, installing, removing, and replacing aircraft systems, components, and assemblies.
- Experience using aircraft maintenance tooling and precision measuring equipment, including:
- Specialized test equipment
- Torque wrenches
- Dial indicators
- Micrometers
- Aircraft ground support equipment
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, maintenance procedures, engineering data, schematics, and aircraft instrumentation.
- Must be willing and able to work either assigned shift and work overtime as required.
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate preferred, but not required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with C-130H aircraft.
- Experience performing depot-level inspections and scheduled maintenance.
- Experience working within military, government, or defense aviation maintenance environments.
- Familiarity with U.S. Navy maintenance procedures, technical manuals, and maintenance documentation standards.
- Military aircraft maintenance experience on large cargo or transport aircraft.
WORK SCHEDULE
Monday–Thursday | 10-Hour Shifts
- 1st Shift: 6:30 AM – 5:30 PM
- 2nd Shift: 4:30 PM – 3:30 AM
Candidates must be flexible and willing to work either shift, as well as overtime when required.
SCREENING REQUIREMENTS
- Must provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
- Must successfully pass an FAA/DOT pre-employment drug screening.
- Must successfully pass a 10-year criminal background check.
- Must successfully pass a required physical examination.
TOOL REQUIREMENTS
Candidates are required to provide their own standard aircraft mechanic hand tools.
All tools must:
- Be properly engraved with the mechanic's identifying information.
- Be maintained in a shadowed toolbox.
- Be supported by a current and accurate tool inventory list.
Pay: Up to $45.00 per hour
