Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Driver Check In Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team! In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for incoming drivers and carriers, ensuring smooth and efficient check-in processes. This position has a rotating shift schedule:
Mondays & Tuesdays: 1pm to 9:30pm
Thursday & Fridays: 9pm to 5:30am
Sunday: 5am to 1:30pm
OFF: Wednesday & Saturdays
Duties
- Greet and verify arriving drivers, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete for check-in
- Use RF scanners and warehouse management systems (WMS) to record shipment details accurately
- Assist with load and unload activities, ensuring safety protocols are followed during driver check-in procedures
- Coordinate with shipping & receiving teams to streamline order fulfillment and delivery schedules
- Maintain organized records of inbound and outbound shipments, including pallets, packages, and freight details
- Support stock management by assisting with inventory updates, stocking, and order picking as needed
- Operate equipment such as pallet jacks, reach trucks, and forklifts to assist with warehouse distribution tasks
Requirements
- Prior experience in warehouse management systems (WMS), shipping & receiving, or related logistics functions preferred
- Valid forklift certification and experience operating reach trucks and pallet jacks
- Familiarity with order picker equipment, RF scanners, and basic math skills for inventory counting
- Knowledge of warehouse distribution processes including loading/unloading, order picking & packing, and stock management
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate record-keeping using systems like AS400 or MRP software
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards
- Basic understanding of e-commerce logistics processes and packaging requirements
