Queens Community House (QCH) provides a network of programs for children, youth, and older adults throughout the diverse communities of Queens. Our mission is to provide individuals and families with the tools to enrich their lives and build healthy, inclusive communities.
We welcome talented individuals from diverse backgrounds who are inspired by our mission and motivated to make a positive impact in people’s lives.
About the Role:
The CRED Workforce Instructor supports out-of-school, unemployed, and underemployed young adults ages 18–40 by connecting them to meaningful career opportunities. This role is responsible for preparing our participants to reenter the workforce in structured 10-week internships after a 14-week training session and providing ongoing support to help them secure permanent employment.
The workforce instructor builds and maintains strong relationships with both participants and community stakeholders, including local employers, to ensure successful internship placements and long-term job outcomes.
At least 75% of program participants must reside in zip codes disproportionately impacted by high rates of gun violence. The CRED initiative approaches gun violence as a public health crisis, combining short-term workforce opportunities with long-term community-based prevention strategies. A central component of this prevention effort is increasing access to career pathways and employment readiness for disconnected young adults.
The Workforce Instructor is responsible for facilitating a variety of training courses, including but not limited to:
-
Food Protection License
-
