Registered Nurse (RN) – Med-Surg | Night Shift
Location: Janesville, WI
Facility: Mercyhealth Hospital and Trauma Center
Shift: Nights – 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
Schedule: 3×12-hour shifts | 36 hours/week guaranteed
Contract: 13 Weeks
Start Date: September 4, 2026
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a Med-Surg Adult Surgical Unit at Mercyhealth Hospital and Trauma Center in Janesville, WI.
This is primarily an adult surgical unit, with a small number of pediatric patient beds. The RN may be required to float to other units based on facility needs.
Responsibilities
- Provide safe and compassionate nursing care using the nursing process.
- Assess patients, develop individualized care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders, hospital policies, and applicable regulations.
- Accurately document patient care and clinical information.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Provide patient and family education.
- Utilize critical thinking to promote patient safety and quality of care.
- Participate in quality improvement and unit-based activities.
- Float to other units as required by the facility.
Requirements
- Current Wisconsin RN License – Active and in good standing.
- Current BLS/CPR certification.
- Current NIHSS certification.
- Education verification required.
- Previous Med-Surg / Adult Surgical experience preferred.
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts.
- Must be available to work every other weekend and holidays.
- Flexibility to float to other units as needed.

- Shift: Nights, 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
- Overtime: After 40 hours/week
- Holiday: Required
