Overview:
Silver Shield Investigation is a licensed private investigation firm serving the New York and New Jersey metro area. We handle surveillance, matrimonial and domestic matters, insurance and claims investigation, background research, workplace investigations, and process service.
We're looking for a case manager to be the point of contact between our clients and our field investigators. Clients come to us during difficult moments and want to know what's happening with their case. This role makes sure they always do.
What You'd Do
- Make first contact with new clients after intake — confirm scope, set expectations, and schedule surveillance dates.
- Coordinate schedules with field investigators and confirm assignments before each date.
- Keep clients updated throughout the case, and deliver reports and findings when they're ready.
- Maintain a clear, accurate written log for every case so anyone picking it up knows exactly where it stands.
- Handle client questions and concerns, and escalate to the owner when a situation calls for it.
- Cover pre-scheduled investigator check-ins on weekends (limited, scheduled in advance — not on-call).
- Close out completed cases: final client communication, archived correspondence, and a complete file.
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years in client-facing coordination — case management, scheduling or dispatch, paralegal work, claims handling,
patient coordination, or similar.
- Strong written communication. Much of this role is documentation, and it needs to be clear enough to stand up later.
- Composure with people under stress. Our clients are often going through a divorce, a lawsuit, or something worse.
- Organized and reliable with a full caseload and moving pieces across multiple cases at once.
- Comfortable in Google Workspace — shared inbox, calendar, docs, and spreadsheets.
- Discretion. Everything you'll see and hear is confidential.
- Available during business hours, plus limited scheduled weekend coordination.
- Operating as an independent contractor with your own business entity or sole proprietorship.
Compensation & Structure
- Hourly. [$______ per hour], invoiced [semi-monthly].
- 1099 independent contractor. Remote, with your own computer and phone. You're free to serve other non-competing clients.
- Trained and documented. We have written procedures for every part of this role, so you won't be guessing at how things are done.
This is a coordination and client communication role. You won't be conducting investigations or surveillance — our licensed investigators handle all fieldwork.
Pay: $25,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
