QC Technician

Position Summary
The Quality Control Technician is responsible for inspecting, testing, and documenting raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure they meet established quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements. This position supports the company’s Quality Management System and helps ensure compliance with ISO 13485, FDA requirements, Good Manufacturing Practices, and internal procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform incoming inspections of raw materials, components, packaging, and purchased products.
- Conduct in-process and finished-product inspections according to approved procedures, specifications, drawings, and work instructions.
- Perform dimensional, visual, functional, and other required quality tests using approved equipment and methods.
- Verify production documentation, including batch records, work orders, inspection records, and product labels.
- Accurately record inspection and testing results in controlled quality records or electronic systems.
- Identify, document, label, and segregate nonconforming materials and products.
- Assist with nonconformance investigations, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive actions.
- Communicate quality issues promptly to Production and Quality Management.
- Support first-article inspections, process validations, and new-product introductions.
- Monitor production activities for compliance with approved procedures and Good Documentation Practices.
- Maintain inspection equipment and ensure measuring devices are properly calibrated before use.
- Assist with environmental monitoring, product sampling, and retention-sample programs when required.
- Support internal, customer, ISO, and regulatory audits.
- Participate in continuous-improvement projects intended to improve product quality and reduce defects.
- Follow all company safety, cleanliness, gowning, and contamination-control requirements.
- Maintain an organized and clean inspection area.
- Perform other quality-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of experience in quality control, manufacturing, production, laboratory work, or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to read and understand specifications, procedures, drawings, and work instructions.
- Basic understanding of inspection methods and measuring equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to complete documentation clearly, accurately, and on time.
- Basic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office or similar programs.
- Ability to communicate professionally with employees at all organizational levels.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in dental, medical-device, pharmaceutical, chemical, or other regulated manufacturing.
- Knowledge of ISO 13485, FDA Quality System requirements, and Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Experience with calipers, micrometers, scales, gauges, and other inspection equipment.
- Familiarity with nonconformance reports, CAPA investigations, document control, and internal audits.
- Experience working with an ERP or electronic Quality Management System.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, sit, walk, and perform repetitive inspection activities for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to distinguish product details, labels, colors, and visible defects.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
- Ability to work in manufacturing, warehouse, laboratory, and controlled production environments.
Work Environment
This position works primarily in a manufacturing and quality-control environment. The employee may be exposed to production equipment, chemicals, noise, and other conditions normally associated with manufacturing operations. Required safety procedures and personal protective equipment must be followed at all times.
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
