Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients through slicing, dicing, and portioning according to recipes and menu specifications
- Assist in assembling dishes quickly and accurately during service hours
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers, fryers, and food processors safely and efficiently
- Follow food safety protocols and maintain proper food handling procedures at all times
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen surfaces to ensure a hygienic environment
- Support the culinary team with menu planning ideas and ingredient prep for upcoming shifts
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service or culinary environments, including restaurant or catering experience
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques
- Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques and ingredient preparation
- Ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Experience with meal preparation, recipe adherence, and food industry best practices
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff
- Familiarity with dietary department procedures or dietary aide experience is a plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and safety standards
