Human Resources Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented Human Resources Specialist to support our employees and ensure accurate, compliant, and timely payroll and benefits administration. This role plays a key part in fostering a positive workplace culture and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Onboard new hires, ensuring a positive introduction to company culture and policies.
- Maintain accurate, confidential employee records and personnel files.
- Process payrolls, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Administer and track benefit plans including 401(k), health insurance, PTO, etc.
- Lead and coordinate annual open enrollment for benefits.
- Monitor and manage compliance for workers compensation, ADA, FMLA, unemployment and related claims.
- Respond to employment-related inquiries from government agencies and external organizations.
- Support leadership and employees with HR matters such as performance concerns, disputes, and terminations.
- Promote an open-door policy and positive employee relations environment.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in payroll systems and employment laws.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with a high level of discretion and professionalism.
- Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Experience in accounts payable/accounts receivable is a plus.
- Willingness to ask questions, receive feedback, and communicate tactfully.
- Must be bondable.
