Responsibilities
- Greet guests with a friendly, positive attitude and manage their seating preferences efficiently.
- Manage restaurant reservation systems, including booking, modifying, and confirming reservations using restaurant table management systems
- Answer incoming phone calls with professionalism, providing information about wait times, reservations, and general inquiries while practicing courteous phone etiquette.
- Organize and coordinate seating arrangements to optimize table turnover and guest satisfaction.
- Maintain clear communication with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow.
- Assist with guest relations by addressing questions or concerns promptly and courteously.
- Keep the host/hostess area tidy and organized, ensuring all reservation logs and seating charts are up-to-date in accordance with food safety standards.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a host/hostess or in food service is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for hospitality is essential.
- Strong organizational skills to manage reservations, waitlists, and seating arrangements efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service excellence.
- Familiarity with restaurant reservation management systems and POS systems
- Basic math skills for handling reservations, waitlist calculations, and guest billing when necessary.
- Ability to stand, walk, and remain active for extended periods in a busy restaurant environment.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and hospitality standards to ensure guest well-being and satisfaction.
