Index Packaging is a growing manufacturing company with four New Hampshire facilities and over 200 employees dedicated to delivering innovative packaging solutions. We’re looking for a detail-oriented Precision Assembly Technician to join our team.
This is not your typical assembly role.
If you enjoy hands-on work, building with precision, reading measurements, and taking pride in producing high-quality finished products, this could be a great fit.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you’ll build custom protective packaging solutions using foam materials, technical drawings, and precision assembly techniques.
Responsibilities include:
- Reading and interpreting work instructions, drawings, and dimensional specifications.
- Measuring, cutting, gluing, and assembling foam components to exact specifications.
- Building custom case inserts and protective packaging assemblies.
- Using hand tools, measuring devices, adhesives, and fabrication equipment.
- Inspecting finished products for accuracy, fit, and overall quality.
- Recording production/job information accurately.
- Working closely with production, engineering, and quality teams.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking someone who is detail-driven, dependable, and enjoys precision work.
Ideal experience includes:
- Manufacturing assembly experience.
- Precision bench assembly.
- Fabrication or production work.
- Blueprint / drawing interpretation.
- Comfortable working with measurements, fractions, and basic shop math.
- Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Bonus if you have experience with:
- Foam fabrication
- Packaging manufacturing
- Custom assembly work
- Hand tools / cutting equipment
Physical Requirements
This is an active manufacturing role requiring:
- Standing for extended periods.
- Frequent bending, reaching, and movement.
- Lifting up to 35 lbs regularly.
- Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
