Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of small an heavy equipment, and automotive systems. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability across our fleet and equipment assets. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead complex repair projects.
Duties
- Perform detailed diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment such as excavators, an backhoes
- Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, suspension work, and transmission servicing to extend equipment lifespan.
- Fabricate custom parts or modifications using welding, soldering, hand tools, and power tools to meet specific operational needs.
- Operate heavy machinery safely during repairs or testing phases while adhering to safety protocols.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems including automotive diagnostics, wiring issues, sensors, and control modules with a focus on automotive repair standards.
- Repair hydraulic systems involving hydraulics components like pumps, cylinders, valves, and hoses for industrial equipment.
- Assist in assembly and disassembly of complex machinery components ensuring proper alignment and functionality.
- Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports of all repairs performed for accountability and future reference.
- Collaborate with team members to improve maintenance procedures and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Mechanic experience.
- Some knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, air brake systems, HVAC systems, shocks & struts, and suspension components.
- Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; familiar with schematics for electrical troubleshooting
- Proficiency in automotive diagnostics along with vehicle maintenance expertise for trucks and trailers.
- Ability to operate power tools safely during repairs or fabrication tasks; capable of heavy lifting when required.
- Excellent mechanical knowledge combined with strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients or team members.
- Special Requirements
- Obtain CPR, First Aid And Flagger certifications within six months of hire.
- Valid Class A commercial driver's license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Complete Basic Work Zone Traffic Control training within six months of hire.
- Virginia State Inspection
Pay: From $21.60 per hour
