Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality patient care and administrative support in a rapidly expanding outpatient clinic. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, patient service, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures, ensuring comfort and safety.
- Perform intake procedures, including obtaining medical histories and vital signs.
- Administer medications and immunization as directed by physicians and monitor patients for any adverse reactions.
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and ensure proper documentation of patient information.
- Perform diagnostic tests on patients as required.
- Log refrigerator and freezer temperatures at the beginning and end of the shift
- Order vaccines and other medications.
- Keep an accurate log of vaccines on hand and the administered vaccines.
- Eager to learn clinic protocols and procedures.
- Utilize knowledge of ICD coding for accurate billing and record-keeping.
- Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care instructions.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean working environment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar role within healthcare settings such as clinics or hospitals.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support techniques.
- Familiarity with EHR systems for efficient patient management.
- Ability to perform clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, administering injections, vaccines, and assisting with minor surgical procedures.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service and empathy towards diverse populations.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated to complete tasks independently.
