Guardian Healthcare is a certified home healthcare agency. Our Family Caregivers division has an exciting opportunity for a Program Coordinator at our Jamaica Plain Headquarters. The Family Caregivers Division at Guardian Healthcare covers Adult Foster Care (AFC) & Group Adult Foster Care (GAFC), Long term services and support (LTSS)
Adult Family Care (AFC) program (or Adult Foster Care) is a program designed to provide support services and stipends to family members of loved ones who require help with daily living because of physical or mental disabilities and hardships. This includes elderly individuals requiring care.
This position reports directly to the Program Director. The job offers opportunities to expand skills and participate in various projects. Job training will be given, as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure that the AFC Program is compliant with all state regulations. Training in Guardian Healthcare policies and procedures and state regulations to be provided.
- Oversight of the office, needs and upkeep and address walk-ins.
- The Program Assistant will be fully trained as a program coordinator because they will be responsible for coverage when a coordinator is absent. This includes; regulations, systems, processes and procedures for clients & staff.
- Will help supervise the program coordinators as needed. However, the coordinators will not be reporting to this position.
- Prior authorizations ahead of onboarding new patients.
- Responsible for tasks and projects to assist the Program Director or Senior Management such as pulling and reviewing reports, compliance and client advocacy.
- Will cover the Program Director during time off and have the authority to make decisions during her absence and on behalf of the office only as is directly related to AFC responsibilities.
- Welcome and assist walk-ins.
- Interact with clients, vendors and visitors.
Terms of Employment
- Provide full in-person office coverage at our headquarters in Jamaica Plain. This position will not offer work from home flexibility.
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm.
- Pay: $28.00 per hour.
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum education: High School Diploma.
- Minimum experience: Two years’ office experience, preferably medical
- Basic knowledge of and comfort with office technology, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and the ability to learn new technologies.
- Familiarity with the Long-Term Services & Supports (LTSS) for AFC and GAFC is advantageous but not required.
- Fluency in English and Spanish (spoken and written) is required to be successful in the role.

Pay: $27.00 - $28.00 per hour
