Job Title: Plant Manager
Location: Van Buren, AR
We are launching a new location in Van Buren, AR, and are seeking a seasoned Plant Manager to lead and manage our painting production line. The first month of this role will include travel to our DFW location for hands-on training and onboarding. All travel accommodations will be provided by the company.
As the Plant Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading the Window and Door Operations and the scale-up of our new production operations, overseeing procurement activities, and ensuring efficient material management to support our growth initiatives.
Success in this role depends on your ability to motivate and inspire production operators to perform at their best. At our company, we believe that leading by example is essential to building a strong, high-performing team.
To ensure you fully understand the demands of the operation, you will spend the first three weeks learning and performing all key production roles. By the end of this period, you should have a solid working knowledge of all critical tasks, allowing you to effectively guide, support, and motivate your team. Your responsibilities will include:
Plant Manager:
· Works closely with leadership to ensure the achievement of production output, quality, and cost targets, as well as planning and accuracy while maintaining a safe work environment.
· Drives continuous improvements in key areas, such as Safety, Quality, Productivity, Cost, and customer service, while developing direct reports. Improves the capabilities of all plant personnel.
· Some of the specific areas of focus for this role will be included
· Provide inspired leadership for the organization
· Help promote a company culture that encourages top performance and high morale
Oversee budgeting, reporting, planning, and auditing
· Ensure all legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor compliance with laws and regulations
· Work with the Director of Operations to determine values and mission, and plan for short and long-term goals
· Identify and address problems and opportunities for the company
· Analyze process workflow, and employee performance, and implement changes
· Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations
· Accomplish operations and organization mission by achieving related results as needed
· Work closely with the office manager and office assistant to perform an analysis of inventory and ensure we are utilizing inventory effectively throughout the production process.
· Project Management:
· Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of all aspects of the scale-up project, including the expansion of facilities, acquisition of equipment, and implementation of training programs.
· Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, identifying critical milestones and resource requirements.
· Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with project objectives and timelines, facilitating effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
Purchasing Coordination:
· Develop and implement a comprehensive procurement strategy aligned with project requirements, sourcing the necessary equipment, materials, and services to support the scale-up process.
· Collaborate with purchasing and supply chain teams to identify suitable suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier relationships to optimize cost, quality, and delivery.
· Coordinate the procurement process from requisition to delivery, ensuring timely acquisition of all necessary components while managing inventory levels and logistics to support production schedules.
· Generate purchase orders accurately and efficiently
· Ensure timely processing of purchase orders following company policies and procedures
· Collaborate with Director of Operations, Controller, and President of Business Development to confirm order specifications and requirements
· Specifically – the position will procure all direct materials, indirect materials, and process equipment for the Dallas ColorCoat facility.
· Identify opportunities for process improvement within the procurement function
· Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
· Stay abreast of industry trends and technologies to drive continuous improvement
· This position will have the opportunity to transition into the primary business purchasing responsibilities
Material Control and Inventory Management:
· Implement best practices for material control and inventory management, optimizing inventory levels to minimize waste and ensure continuity of operations.
· Maintain systems for tracking and monitoring material usage, conducting regular audits and cycle counts to maintain the accuracy and integrity of inventory data.
· Collaborate with production and warehouse teams to ensure efficient flow of materials and support production schedules.
Scale-Up Preparation and Training:
· Develop and implement training programs for employees to facilitate the successful scale-up of operations, ensuring that all staff are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to operate new equipment and facilities effectively.
· Coordinate with departmental managers to identify training needs and develop customized training plans to address them.
Facility and Equipment Management:
· Coordinate acquiring and installing new equipment and facilities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
· Develop maintenance plans and schedules to ensure optimal performance and longevity of equipment and facilities, coordinating maintenance activities with internal teams and external vendors as needed.
Qualifications:
· A Green or Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma Certification is preferred.
· Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, or related field is preferred.
· Strong background focuses on manufacturing or production environments.
· Proven experience in Lean manufacturing, and process integration.
· Strong project management and leadership skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional projects.
· Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
