Job Description: We are seeking an organized, personable, and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support our Family Law practice. This position serves as the primary point of contact for many of our family law clients and plays a key role in keeping cases moving efficiently from beginning to end.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary administrative assistant for our Family Law attorneys.
- Communicate professionally with clients regarding appointments, case updates, and requested information.
- Coordinate scheduling with courts, opposing counsel, clients, mediators, and court reporters.
- Schedule hearings, mediation, depositions, consultations, and attorney meetings.
- Prepare, file, and organize pleadings and other legal documents.
- Monitor attorney calendars and litigation deadlines.
- Assist with new client intake and consultation scheduling.
- Answer client questions regarding scheduling and case logistics.
- Maintain organized electronic files and ensure documents are accurately filed.
- Perform general administrative and clerical duties supporting the Family Law team.
Required:
- Strong reading and writing skills.
- The ability to learn new software quickly.
- At least two years experience as an administrative assistant, secretary, or similar role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining professionalism.
- High level of customer service and interpersonal skills.
Preferred:
- Prior experience in a law firm.
- Familiarity with court filing procedures.
- Experience scheduling hearings, depositions, or other professional appointments.
- Experience working with Clio, Microsoft 365, or similar practice management software.
