Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items following standardized recipes and presentation guidelines
- Operate various kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, fryers, and food processors safely and efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, including proper cleaning of utensils, equipment, and surfaces
- Assist in meal planning and portioning to ensure consistency and quality across all dishes
- Follow food safety protocols, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food while adhering to safety standards in production
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant settings with a focus on quality and efficiency
- Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques and ingredient prep
- Knowledge of dietary department standards and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and maintain consistency in dish presentation
- Excellent communication skills for effective coordination with kitchen staff
- Understanding of food safety management practices and safety standards in production environments
- Experience operating kitchen equipment safely and effectively within a fast-paced setting
- Familiarity with menu planning, meal preparation, and catering processes within the food industry
