Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess animal patients’ vital signs, responding promptly to emergencies or changes in condition using veterinary critical care techniques.
- Assist with anesthesia administration, including general anesthesia procedures and monitoring veterinary anesthesia to ensure patient safety during surgeries or diagnostic procedures.
- Perform venipuncture (IV insertion), animal catheterization, and vascular access to facilitate medication delivery and diagnostic testing.
- Conduct laboratory work such as blood draws, sample processing, and diagnostic radiology to support accurate diagnoses.
- Handle animal restraint and husbandry with confidence, ensuring animals are comfortable and secure during examinations or treatments.
- Support veterinary surgical procedures by assisting with equipment operation, aseptic technique, and post-operative care.
- Maintain detailed records using veterinary software, including medication administration, radiology diagnostics (X-ray), and laboratory results while ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
Requirements
- Proven kennel experience along with animal handling skills across a variety of species, including dogs and equines.
- Strong understanding of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and veterinary procedure assistance.
- Experience with dental terminology, pet care practices, and emergency medicine protocols.
- Demonstrated ability in anesthesiology, veterinary anesthesia monitoring, phlebotomy, and medical equipment operation.
- Knowledge of diagnostic radiology techniques such as X-ray imaging and radiology diagnostics.
- Skilled in animal restraint techniques for safe handling during procedures or examinations.
- Prior veterinary technician experience preferred; certification as a licensed or registered veterinary technician is a plus.
- Excellent client communication skills to relay information clearly and compassionately when needed.
- Ability to work independently during overnight hours while maintaining high standards of animal care and safety.

Pay: $22.75 - $30.00 per hour
