Description
The truck driver’s role is to haul assigned loads to and from assigned destinations according to schedule. Maintain trucks and trailers as required and follow all state, federal and company policies. Comply with all documentation expectations as directed. Always conduct themselves in a safe and professional manner and represent Appellation Construction Services in a positive light.
Responsibilities
- Transport loads assigned daily to appropriate destinations within schedule as assigned by Dispatch Manager
- Properly utilize equipment assigned by Dispatch Manager
- Must check with Dispatch Manager before leaving to have each load verified. Must also check in before and after each trip and prior to leaving for the day
- A Bill of Lading must be filled out on all outgoing and incoming loads. No material should ever be hauled that is not documented
- Perform maintenance on trucks and trailers (cleaning, greasing, light bulb changes, etc.) as time permits and as directed by Dispatch Manager
- Inspect vehicles for safety or mechanical issues
- When there is nothing to haul drivers must perform maintenance and/or Operator duties around the offices and shop to get their time in. Duties will be assigned as needed by Dispatch Manager
- Any overtime must have prior approval by Dispatch Manager.
- Potential for oversize loads
- Any pipe fabrications/material loaded must be secured and verified by the truck driver
- All paperwork must be turned in daily. This includes all Transport tickets, receipts, documentation from job sites etc.
- Report any accidents or violations immediately
- Always comply with any trucking rules and regulations as well as company policies and procedures
- Any additional duties as assigned by Dispatch Manager or Management Team
- Some weekend work may be required
Qualifications
- Valid Driver’s License
- Clean driving record
- Class A CDL
- Valid medical card
- Load securement
- 4 Year minimum experience
- Lowboy and oversize load experience preferred as well as experience in oil/gas field
- Ability to stay out of town 1-3 as needed
- Strong Communication skills
