Position Summary:
The Press Room Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily press room operations, production
scheduling, staffing, quality, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure efficient
manufacturing performance. This role coordinates production priorities, manages ERP transactions
and work orders, supports tooling and equipment maintenance, and drives productivity, material
yield, and on-time delivery. The Supervisor works closely with Assembly, Engineering, Scheduling,
and Warehouse teams to support both make-to-stock (MTS) and make-to-order (MTO)
manufacturing requirements. Currently has approximately 5 direct report employees.
II. Press Room Operations:
Supervises and schedules all Press Room activities including maintaining production schedule to
meet assembly and stocking needs.
Allocates resources for setup and operation of stamping presses, CNC stamping equipment,
fabrication, and other supporting equipment.
Ensure all materials, work-in-process, and finished goods are properly tagged, labeled, and traceable
as they flow through the department.
Assist team members with troubleshooting production issues and machine adjustments.
Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for production, quality, or equipment
issues.
Supports preventive maintenance activities including lubrication, die repair/sharpening, cleaning,
tooling inspection, and replacement of worn components.
Coordinate maintenance to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.
Participates in new equipment launches, process validation, and production optimization initiatives.
III. Quality & Continuous Improvement:
Ensure compliance with company quality standards, procedures, and customer
requirements.
Monitor scrap, throughput, downtime, efficiency, and material yield metrics to implement
improvements to increase productivity, reduce waste and maintain inventory accuracy.
Create, document, and maintain standardized work instructions, procedures, and process
controls including assignment and cataloging of tooling numbers.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, workflow, setup time and waste
material reduction, quality, and operational performance.
Support inventory accuracy and material control activities including scrap transactions and
inventory adjustments.
Work collaboratively with Engineering to improve manufacturability and process capability.

IV. Leadership & Team Development:
Lead, mentor, and train press room personnel on equipment operation, safety procedures,
PPE requirements, quality standards, and company processes.
Develop employee skillsets and cross-training initiatives to improve department flexibility
and performance.
Promote accountability, teamwork, communication, and professionalism within the
department.
Support staffing and labor planning activities to meet production demand including all HR
activities (hiring, discipline, termination, reviews, promotions and training.)
Serve as a role model for company values, attendance, work ethic, and safe work practices.
V. Safety & Housekeeping:
Enforce all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, lockout/tagout procedures, and
safe machine operating practices.
Conduct routine safety checks and ensure compliance with PPE and workplace safety
requirements.
Maintain press room organization and cleanliness in accordance with 5S standards.
Works with Warehouse Manager to create and maintain primary bin locations for
pressroom materials.
Ensure equipment, tooling, and work areas are maintained in safe and orderly condition.
Identify and address unsafe conditions or behaviors immediately.
VI. Deliverables:
Maintain production schedules to support assembly and customer demand along with
stocked inventory requirements.
Achieve departmental goals related to safety, quality, throughput, efficiency, and material
utilization efficiency.
Monitor and report departmental downtime, labor utilization, and schedule attainment.
Implement process improvements that increase productivity and reduce operational costs.
Monitor and maintain accurate ERP labor and material transactions, inventory levels, and
production documentation.
Develop preventive maintenance schedules to maximize uptime and equipment reliability.
Support successful launch and integration of new tooling, equipment, and manufacturing
processes.
Develop and maintain CNC programs/coding using Striker or equivalent software for
equipment and future machinery.
VII. Qualifications:
Minimum 4 years of manufacturing experience in a stamping, fabrication, or metal forming
environment.
Prior supervisory or leadership experience.
Experience with stamping presses, tooling, coil-fed equipment, CNC mills, Turret presses,
and similar manufacturing equipment.

Experience using ERP/MRP systems, such as Epicor, with knowledge of BOM and BOO
editing.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, travelers, BOMs, and similar
production documentation.
Working knowledge of shop math, material calculations, and manufacturing processes.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficient with Microsoft programs Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced
manufacturing environment.
Ability to lift up to 55 pounds and work in a hands-on shop environment when needed.
Experience with Striker or similar CNC programming software preferred.
Ability to work as needed to oversee overtime shifts.
Experience with the use of forklifts.

The Press Room Supervisor reports to the Plant Manager.
