Duties
- Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with intake processes to ensure accurate documentation.
- Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to monitor patient health status.
- Prepare patients for examinations or procedures by explaining the process and ensuring comfort.
- Perform X-rays of the limbs, spine.
- Assist physicians during orthopedic examinations, including positioning patients and preparing necessary instruments or X-ray equipment.
- Manage electronic health record (EHR) systems efficiently by documenting patient encounters, updating medical histories, and coding diagnoses using ICD (International Classification of Diseases) codes.
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment, including sterilizing equipment and preparing exam rooms for daily use.
- Support imaging procedures like X-ray or other diagnostic tests as needed within the orthopedic practice.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols such as Basic Life Support (BLS) standards and hospital policies.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in outpatient or hospital settings; clinic experience preferred.
- Willingness to learn
- Familiarity with EHR systems
- Ability to perform vital signs measurement accurately and efficiently.
- Experience with X-ray procedures
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required;
- Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations including geriatrics and pediatric ICU (PICU).
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration protocols, and intake procedures within inpatient or outpatient environments. Pay: $21.49 - $26.49 per hour
