Qualified Production and Development provides custom machining and manufacturing services, serving the semi-conductor, life science and other industries. We provide contract manufacturing services for prototyping, machining and assembly with cleanroom capabilities.
QUALITY INSPECTOR POSITION SNAPSHOT
Under general supervision, the Quality Inspector II/III will assist in the execution of the Quality Management System with regards to product inspection, first article submissions, corrective and preventive actions, internal audits and customer and supplier communication and data submittals. You'll also provide input and coaching to continually improve the understanding and adherence to quality assurance disciplines across the company.
WHAT QUALITY INSPECTORS WILL BE DOING
- Conduct inspections of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with international/customer quality standards and specifications.
- Perform dimensional, visual, and functional inspection of parts, components, assemblies, and raw materials; documenting and communicating inspection results to relevant departments.
- Complete First Piece Buyoff & In Process Inspection reports by utilizing precision handheld measurement equipment and/or gauges.
- Record and disposition non-conformances in the database.
- Set up and utilize vision systems and CMM to inspect customer or internal product.
- Assist QMS in executing internal audits to ensure compliance with SLP’s, WI’s, and processes. Providing feedback on procedures and work instructions relating to internal processes and practices.
- Collaborate with production teams to identify and solve quality problems.
- Must be able to measure parts efficiently and effectively manually on granite rock.
- Provide guidance and on-the-job training for new employees.
- Follow all safety requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Schedule:
- Day shift, Monday - Thursday 10 hr shifts or Monday - Thursday 9 hrs + Friday 4 hours
- Occasional overtime as needed.
QUALITY INSPECTOR MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent experience. Additional technical education or certification is a plus, but not required.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Quality Control Inspector in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to exercise good judgement and make effective decisions independently.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Demonstrated proficiency in taking manual measurements on granite rock.
- Proficiency in using measuring instruments and tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.)
- Demonstrated skills identifying, measuring, and managing product Key Characteristics.
- Demonstrated understanding of GD&T.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to demonstrate attention to detail in completing assignments and in communicating to internal and external representatives.
- Demonstrated knowledge of statistics, geometry, fractions, percentages, and ratios.
- Strong knowledge of quality control processes, procedures, and best practices.
- Ability to build relationships with a variety of positions within the company. Tactfulness, professionalism, a team orientation and diplomacy with a problem solving approach are essential.
- Ability to lift up to 5 lbs frequently.
- This position involves access to export controlled information. Employees must be eligible to work in roles subject to U.S. export control regulations.
