Operate, monitor, and help coordinate daily wastewater treatment facility, lift station, and collection system operations, including pumps, aerators, chemical feed systems, and jet pumps.

Serve as a lead technician in the field by prioritizing daily assignments, providing direction to assigned staff or contractors, and helping ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with Company standards.

Collect samples, perform routine process control testing, review operating conditions, and notify management of process issues, permit concerns, or compliance risks.

Complete and review daily logs, operational reports, maintenance records, and regulatory documentation for accuracy and timeliness.

Perform and assist with preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and pumping equipment, while helping coordinate repairs and follow-up with vendors or internal resources.

Inspect, clean, and maintain facilities and grounds to Company standards, and help ensure housekeeping and site readiness expectations are consistently met.

Assist with installation, inspection, and location/marking of sewer lines and services; respond to utility locate requests and help oversee completion of related field work.

Help train and mentor newer technicians on operating procedures, safety practices, equipment use, documentation requirements, and field response expectations.

Participate in an on-call rotation and take a lead role in responding to after-hours alarms, equipment failures, collection system issues, and emergency operational needs.

Enforce and model compliance with all safety procedures, including PPE, OSHA requirements, confined space entry, and lockout/tagout, and immediately address unsafe conditions or behaviors.

Communicate effectively with leadership regarding system performance, staffing needs, maintenance priorities, repair recommendations, and process improvement opportunities.

Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), recommend updates based on operational needs, and support consistent implementation of best practices across the system.

Perform other related duties as assigned

Must be able to properly use all required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) when performing tasks.

Ability to safely use pump-related equipment, electrical equipment, pneumatic equipment, chain saws, shovels, rakes, face shields, gloves, and other equipment as needed.

Familiarity with diagnostic instruments and the ability to test, calibrate, troubleshoot, and assist with repair of complex devices and equipment.

Ability to use computers and mobile devices for work orders, reporting, email communication, and operational documentation.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Georgia Class 1 Wastewater Treatment Certification required.

Previous Supervisory or Management experience required.

Valid Georgia Driver’s license required.

High school diploma or GED required.
-
Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Windows Explorer, Word, and Excel preferred.

Previous outdoor or utility-related experience, such as construction, plumbing, equipment operation, or underground utility work, is helpful.

Ability to lead field activities, exercise sound judgment in routine and emergency situations, and provide guidance to other team members as needed.

Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally, coordinate work tasks, and support operational priorities in partnership with management.
