Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic X-Ray Technologist to join our dynamic medical imaging team. In this vital role, you will operate advanced radiologic imaging equipment to produce diagnostic images that assist physicians in evaluating and diagnosing patient conditions. Your expertise in various imaging modalities, including X-ray, CT scans, mammography, and nuclear medicine, will be essential in delivering accurate and timely results. Responsibilities
- Operate radiologic imaging equipment such as X-ray machines, CT scanners, PET scans, mammography units, DEXA scanners, fluoroscopy systems, and nuclear medicine devices with precision and care.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process, positioning them correctly, and ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the exam.
- Follow strict radiation safety protocols to protect patients, staff, and yourself from unnecessary exposure while maintaining image quality.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to perform diagnostic evaluations across various departments including emergency room settings, trauma centers (Level I & II), and urgent care facilities.
- Maintain detailed documentation of procedures performed, patient information, and equipment calibration records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on radiologic equipment to ensure optimal performance and troubleshoot any technical issues promptly.
- Adhere to aseptic techniques during procedures involving invasive or sterile environments and uphold all safety standards related to radiation use.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating radiologic imaging equipment such as X-ray, CT, fluoroscopy, mammography, DEXA scans, PET scans, and nuclear medicine devices.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic radiology principles.
- Prior experience working in emergency room settings or Level I & II trauma centers is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with radiation safety procedures and implementing radiation protection protocols effectively.
- Ability to perform interventional radiology procedures with precision and attention to detail.
- Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to diverse patient populations.
- Certification or licensure as an X-Ray Technologist or Radiologic Technologist (ARRT certification preferred).
- Knowledge of medical imaging software systems and medical equipment operation.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in fast-paced environments such as urgent care or emergency departments.
