Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities including data entry, journal entries, and account reconciliations using accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, or similar systems
- Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data and identify discrepancies promptly
- Process payroll and handle related payroll tax filings with precision and confidentiality
- Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable records, ensuring timely payments and collections
- Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Conduct general ledger accounting tasks such as month-end closing, account analysis, and double-entry bookkeeping procedures
- Support governmental and non-profit accounting requirements by adhering to specific standards and regulations
- Assist with budgeting processes by tracking expenses against budgets and providing relevant financial insights
- Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and internal controls for accuracy and integrity of financial data
Experience
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role with a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Hands-on experience with popular accounting software such as QuickBooks (including QuickBooks Online), Xero, Sage, or equivalent systems
- Familiarity with corporate accounting processes, governmental accounting standards, and non-profit accounting is highly desirable
- Demonstrated ability to perform bank reconciliations, account analysis, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliation efficiently
- Knowledge of payroll processing procedures and accounts payable/receivable management
- Strong proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets) for data analysis and reporting purposes
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple tasks accurately under deadlines
- Basic typing skills (10 key) for efficient data entry and transaction processing
