Responsibilities
- Efficiently wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment following established food safety and sanitation standards.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as needed to support the culinary team.
- Buss tables and clear dining areas promptly to maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the restaurant.
- Follow proper manual handling techniques when lifting heavy loads of dishware or cleaning supplies to prevent injury.
- Operate commercial dishwashing machines and other kitchen equipment safely and effectively.
- Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area, including sinks, counters, and storage spaces.
- Adhere strictly to food safety management protocols and sanitation procedures to ensure a hygienic environment for staff and guests.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; a willingness to learn is essential.
- Knowledge of food handling practices, sanitation standards, and kitchen health and safety regulations.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting safely.
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment such as dishwashers and cleaning tools.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness and hygiene.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks efficiently.
