The Controller will own the full accounting function, including financial reporting, close process, technical accounting, and internal controls. You will be a key partner in building a best-in-class finance organization that can support rapid loan book expansion and increased regulatory and investor scrutiny.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all aspects of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close
Own GAAP financial reporting, management reporting, and lender/investor reporting
Oversee accounting for loan portfolios, interest income, reserves, and credit loss allowances
Build and scale SOX-ready internal controls and policies
Partner closely with FP&A on portfolio performance and forecasting
Manage relationships with external auditors and tax advisors
Support preparation for potential IPO readiness and SEC reporting infrastructure
Drive process improvements, automation, and system enhancements
Lead and develop a growing accounting team
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA strongly preferred)
8–15+ years of progressive accounting experience
Background in financial services, lending, banking, credit funds, or fintech strongly preferred
Experience with loan accounting, allowance methodologies (CECL), and interest income recognition
Prior public company experience or IPO readiness exposure strongly preferred
Strong technical accounting and internal controls background (SOX preferred)
Demonstrated experience scaling accounting functions in high-growth environments
