Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth workflow and patient comfort.
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials while maintaining strict infection control and aseptic techniques.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed to meet regulatory standards.
- Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform vital signs assessment and medical imaging as needed to support comprehensive patient evaluations.
- Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, managing medical documentation, and assisting the dental receptionist with patient check-in/out processes.
- Maintain inventory of dental supplies and equipment, including 3D scanners and other advanced tools used in modern dentistry practices.
- Educate patients on oral health care procedures and post-treatment instructions while fostering a welcoming environment for pediatric patients.
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient four-handed dentistry practices that enhance patient care and reduce procedure times.
- Uphold infection control standards through proper sterilization techniques and adherence to OSHA guidelines.
Qualifications
- Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant with current licensure or registration as required by state or regional regulations.
- Proven experience in dental assisting within a clinical setting, preferably with exposure to general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics.
- Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; familiarity with Epic or similar platforms is advantageous.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to medical documentation and patient privacy.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques.
- Experience with X-ray procedures, medical coding, and handling medical records efficiently.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting confidently while demonstrating excellent communication skills with patients of all ages.
- Familiarity with advanced dental technology including 3D scanners and digital imaging equipment used in modern practice environments.
