Duties
- Greet guests promptly and warmly as they arrive, creating a friendly and inviting environment.
- Manage reservation systems and waitlists efficiently using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS.
- Escort guests to their tables, providing menus and answering initial questions about the menu or restaurant offerings.
- Maintain clear communication with the kitchen and serving staff to ensure smooth service flow.
- Handle guest inquiries over the phone with professionalism, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette.
- Manage guest seating arrangements during busy hours, balancing wait times with guest expectations.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the host stand and waiting areas.
- Support guest relations by addressing concerns promptly and courteously, ensuring a positive dining experience.
- Collaborate with team members to uphold high standards of hospitality and service excellence.
- Follow all safety protocols and restaurant policies to ensure a secure environment for staff and guests.
Skills
- Proven experience as a Host/Host or in a similar food service or hospitality role.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly and professionally.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with guests and team members.
- Familiarity with restaurant POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is preferred.
- Previous experience in hotel or guest services environments is a plus.
- Knowledge of serving etiquette, guest relations, and hospitality best practices.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail.
