Sales Account Manager – Foodservice & B2B Sales | PJP Marketplace
PJP Marketplace is a Philadelphia foodservice distributor with three cash & carry retail locations. We're hiring an Account Manager to drive new business development and grow an existing book of accounts. This role reports directly to the President and operates with real autonomy from day one.
This is a hunter role for someone who knows how to build a pipeline, close new accounts, and keep them.
What You'll Do
New Business Development

Prospect and pursue new foodservice and B2B accounts through outbound outreach, cold calling, referrals, and networking

Build and manage an active pipeline; move opportunities through the sales cycle with consistent follow-through

Prepare and deliver proposals, presentations, and pricing packages tailored to each prospect

Convert new accounts and ensure a smooth handoff into onboarding
Account Growth

Grow revenue within an assigned book of existing accounts by expanding product penetration and share of wallet

Conduct regular check-ins and site visits to maintain relationships and surface new needs

Identify at-risk accounts early and develop retention strategies
Pricing & Commercial Execution

Prepare customer-facing pricing within approved margin guidelines

Ensure customer terms, pricing, and program participation are accurately documented
Cross-Functional Coordination

Partner with delivery logistics, store, and inventory teams to prevent service failures and resolve account-level issues

Communicate customer requirements and special needs internally with accuracy and lead time
Pipeline & Reporting

Maintain accurate records of sales activity, pipeline status, and account performance

Provide regular updates to leadership using available tools (BRdata, Encore, Excel, AQ360)

Partner with Finance on receivables monitoring and collection follow-up for assigned accounts
What We're Looking For

Proven B2B or foodservice sales experience with a track record of acquiring new accounts and growing existing business

Strong prospecting, communication, and negotiation skills

Self-directed and results-oriented — able to manage a pipeline without close supervision

Comfortable using data and reporting tools to track and communicate performance

Valid driver's license; regular local travel to customer sites required
Compensation & Schedule

Base salary $52,000 - $65,000 plus commission on net new business
