We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Personal Injury / Family Law Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. In this role, you will provide essential support across personal injury and family law cases, ensuring smooth case progression from inception to resolution. Duties
- · Case Management: Handle the day-to-day progress of files, acting as the primary point of contact for clients, insurance adjusters, and medical providers. Gather and organize financial documents, such as tax returns and bank statements; and coordinate deposition scheduling.
· Evidence Gathering: Collect police reports, witness statements, photographs, and surveillance footage.
· Medical Record Handling: Request, organize, and summarize medical records and billing statements.
· Document Drafting: Prepare complaints, discovery requests/responses, settlement demands, and trial exhibits.
· Deadline Tracking: Monitor critical dates, including statutes of limitations, to ensure no case is jeopardized
· Document Drafting: Prepare pleadings, motions, and financial affidavits.
· Case Management: Maintain attorney calendars, schedule mediations or depositions, and track critical court deadlines.
· Client Liaison: Conduct initial intake interviews, explain legal procedures, and provide regular case updates while maintaining strict confidentiality.
· Trial Preparation: Assist lawyers as needed.
Experience
- Proven paralegal experience supporting personal injury law cases is required; experience in family law is highly preferred
- Familiarity with estate planning, environmental law, UCC law (Uniform Commercial Code), securities law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, workers' compensation law, general & commercial litigation is a plus
- Proficiency in legal software including PCLaw, iManage, Westlaw, LexisNexis, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), and document review tools is essential
- Strong research skills with the ability to interpret procedural laws and legal precedents effectively
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining accuracy
- Exceptional writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence; proofreading and transcription experience are advantageous
- Outstanding client communication skills paired with professional phone etiquette and organizational abilities
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information discreetly while supporting litigation processes efficiently
