We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Mortgage Loan Originator to join our growing team. Duties
- Engage with prospective clients to understand their financial needs and provide tailored mortgage options
- Originate residential mortgage and hard money loans from application to closing
- Utilize Calyx Point and Loan Origination Systems (LOS) and financial software to process loan applications efficiently and accurately
- Conduct credit analysis, income verification, and risk assessment in accordance with FNMA (Fannie Mae) guidelines and industry standards
- Negotiate terms with clients, real estate agents, and underwriters to secure favorable loan agreements while maintaining compliance with Fair Housing regulations and TILA (Truth in Lending Act) requirements
- Prepare and review all necessary documentation including escrow instructions, underwriting reports, and loan disclosures
- Maintain ongoing communication with clients throughout the loan process, providing updates and answering questions promptly
- Collaborate with underwriters, processors, and mortgage servicing teams to ensure smooth loan origination and compliance with banking regulations
Experience
- Active NMLS license (required)
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (required)
- Strong knowledge of Conventional, FHA, and VA loan products
- Proven experience (Minimum 5 years) as a Loan Officer or Mortgage Loan Originator
- Strong knowledge of mortgage lending processes, including loan processing, underwriting, and mortgage servicing
- Familiarity with Calyx Point, Loan Origination Systems (LOS)
- Excellent negotiation skills combined with a thorough understanding of financial sales strategies
- Deep understanding of industry regulations including FNMA standards, TILA, Fair Housing laws, and banking regulatory compliance
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to build strong relationships in a fast-paced sales environment
- Experience in credit analysis for both residential and commercial lending projects involving risk assessment and financial compliance
