Valley Nursing Healthcare is a compassionate, resident-centered skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility dedicated to providing exceptional care to our residents while fostering a positive and supportive workplace culture for our employees.
We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Human Resources Director to lead all HR operations within our facility. This is an exciting opportunity for a people-focused leader who is passionate about employee engagement, recruitment, retention, and creating a strong workplace culture in a healthcare environment.
Position Overview
The Human Resources Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources operations, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, benefits administration, training, and retention initiatives.
This role plays a key part in supporting both facility leadership and employees while helping create a positive, collaborative, and mission-driven work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead recruitment, onboarding, and retention efforts for nursing and non-nursing staff
Support hiring managers with staffing strategies and workforce planning
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
Manage employee relations matters, investigations, coaching, and disciplinary processes
Oversee benefits administration, payroll coordination, workers’ compensation, and leave management
Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS systems
Support leadership with employee development, engagement, and succession planning initiatives
Coordinate orientation, training, and ongoing education programs
Foster a culture of teamwork, inclusion, accountability, and employee recognition
Assist with facility events, employee appreciation programs, and retention initiatives
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience required
Healthcare or long-term care HR experience strongly preferred
Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR compliance, and best practices
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion
HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) preferred but not required
Experience with recruitment, employee engagement, and retention strategies preferred
