Join our dynamic team as a Dump Truck, End Dump/OwnerOperator and take charge of delivering heavy-duty materials with precision, safety, and efficiency. In this role, you will operate dump trucks and other specialized commercial vehicles to transport construction materials, debris, or freight across various routes. Your expertise in truck driving, cargo handling, and adherence to safety regulations will ensure timely deliveries and exceptional service. This position offers the opportunity to work independently while maintaining a strong focus on safety standards and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
Operate dump trucks, tractor-trailers, roll-off trucks, flatbeds, tankers, or refrigerated trailers to transport goods over long distances or local routes.
Ensure proper loading and unloading of freight, utilizing manual handling techniques and equipment such as forklifts when necessary.
Navigate efficiently using GPS systems to meet delivery schedules across over-the-road (OTR) driving routes and urban settings.
Comply with all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration), DOT (Department of Transportation), hazardous materials regulations, and hazardous goods handling protocols.
Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to identify maintenance needs or safety issues; report any concerns promptly.
Load and secure cargo properly to prevent shifting during transit, especially when transporting dangerous goods or hazardous materials.
Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, route information, and delivery documentation in accordance with regulatory standards.
Requirements
Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to dump trucks, tanker, flatbed, or hazardous materials as applicable.
Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving in various environments.
Familiarity with manual transmission trucks and tractor-trailers; ability to operate manual handling equipment like forklifts is a plus.
Knowledge of logistics cargo handling procedures for freight, hazardous materials regulations, and truck loading/unloading techniques.
Strong understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT compliance requirements, and safety protocols for dangerous goods transportation.
Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; experience with refrigerated trailers or automobile transportation is advantageous.
Ability to handle physically demanding tasks such as manual loading/unloading and lifting heavy cargo safely.
