Job Title: ISBE Home Visitor/Parent Educator (Bilingual English/Spanish)

The Home Visitor provides early childhood development and parent education to families and their children in the ISBE Early Childhood Home Visiting Program. Work on a team utilizing the Principles of Family Support Practice to enhance the overall development of children and families in the program.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Provide home-based services, including parent-child interaction activities that support family engagement and child development.
- Deliver education, support, and information to families on topics such as child development, parenting skills, and family well-being through both home- and center-based services.
- Implement the Parents as Teachers (PAT) curriculum in accordance with program guidelines and funding partner requirements.
- Conduct family assessments to identify needs for case management, referrals, and development of IFSPs as appropriate.
- Complete developmental screenings and coordinate home- and center-based services, referrals, and advocacy to support family needs.
- Support families in achieving identified goals and assist parents in building skills and strategies to promote healthy child development.
- Prepare, complete, and submit required documentation, reports, and case notes in a timely and accurate manner.
- Maintain participant records in compliance with professional standards and funding requirements.
- Present case updates and collaborate with center staff during weekly team meetings.
- Assist in recruiting eligible families for the home visiting program and maintaining assigned caseloads.
- Collaborate with community agencies and service providers to support comprehensive family services.
- Provide childcare support during center-based activities and develop weekly, age-appropriate lesson plans for children.
The ideal candidate will have the following education and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Human Services, Early Childhood Education, Social Work, or a related field required.
- Gateways Family Specialist Credential Level 5 preferred, or willingness to obtain Level 5 within one year of hire.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish required to effectively support families.
- Knowledge of and experience working with the Latino community in the Town of Cicero preferred.
- Ability to build trusting relationships with parents and support family engagement and education.
- Willingness and ability to travel locally to conduct home visits and attend community-based activities, including occasional evenings and weekends.
- Access to reliable transportation to successfully manage and maintain assigned caseload responsibilities.
Salary: $48,200/year
