Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and responsible (CDL) Driver (Doubles/Maxi) or an experienced driver who has their farm endorsement. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating a set of 34-30 maxi trailers transporting freight, agricultural products, and equipment across designated routes intrastate.
Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers and other commercial vehicles pulling maxi trailers, adhering strictly to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems, planning optimal paths to meet delivery schedules.
- Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking brakes, tires, lights, and load security.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, and delivery documentation in compliance with FMCSA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any logistical issues promptly.
Experience
- Valid CDL with doubles endorsement or experience hauling doubles with your farm endorsement.
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on route driving and freight delivery.
- Familiarity with manual transmission trucks and the operation of pulling doubles/maxi trailers.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations and ODOT requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to operate GPS navigation systems efficiently across diverse routes.
- Prior doubles hauling/straw a plus; must have a clean driving record and strong safety awareness.
- Experience driving agricultural equipment/tractors and knowledge of baling/raking hay/straw a definite plus!
