BIM/VDC Coordinator – Mechanical Construction
Denver, CO
We’re looking for a BIM/VDC Coordinator with a mechanical construction background to join our team in Denver.
This is a hands-on role for someone who knows their way around Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, 3D modeling, and mechanical construction drawings. You’ll be working with models and drawings, coordinating between trades, preparing information for fabrication, and helping solve problems before they make it to the field.
If you’ve worked as a BIM Modeler, Revit Modeler, Mechanical Designer, VDC Coordinator, BIM Coordinator, Mechanical Detailer, or MEP Designer, this could be a good fit.
What You'll Be Doing
- Build, modify, and coordinate 3D BIM models for mechanical systems
- Work extensively in Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks
- Coordinate HVAC, plumbing, piping, and other mechanical systems
- Review models and drawings to identify clashes and potential construction issues
- Prepare models, drawings, and information for fabrication and field installation
- Create and maintain accurate backgrounds, layouts, and construction drawings
- Work with redlines, PDFs, elevations, dimensions, and shop drawings
- Develop spool and fabrication information from coordinated models
- Place and coordinate 3D hangers for piping and ductwork
- Help prepare ductwork and other components for fabrication
- Work with project managers, engineers, designers, detailers, fabricators, and field personnel
- Participate in coordination meetings and help resolve design conflicts
- Prepare and assist with RFIs when information is missing or a design needs to be addressed
- Make sure models and drawings are accurate and ready for the people actually building the project
What We're Looking For
- Experience with BIM/VDC, mechanical design, detailing, or construction
- Strong working knowledge of Revit
- Experience with AutoCAD and Navisworks
- Experience working with 3D mechanical models
- Understanding of mechanical construction, particularly HVAC, piping, plumbing, or ductwork
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings and mechanical plans
- Experience coordinating work between multiple trades
- Ability to recognize conflicts and come up with practical solutions
- Comfortable working with field personnel and understanding how things actually get built
- Strong attention to detail without losing sight of the overall project
- Good communication skills and the ability to work with engineers, PMs, fabricators, and field crews
- Able to take ownership of projects and work independently
Experience That Will Stand Out
We’d especially like to talk to people who have worked in:
- Mechanical contracting
- HVAC construction
- Plumbing or piping
- Sheet metal
- Mechanical fabrication
- MEP coordination
- BIM/VDC
- Revit modeling
- Mechanical detailing
- Construction coordination
A construction or fabrication background is a big plus. We’re not just looking for someone who knows how to draw in Revit. We want someone who understands what they're looking at and can help turn a model into something that can actually be fabricated and installed in the field.
Why This Role
This is a good opportunity for someone who wants to be involved in the entire process — design → modeling → coordination → fabrication → field installation.
You’ll work with experienced construction and fabrication teams and have the opportunity to take on more responsibility as you grow.
If you’re a BIM Modeler, Revit Modeler, VDC Coordinator, BIM Coordinator, Mechanical Designer, Mechanical Detailer, or MEP Coordinator who understands mechanical construction, we want to hear from you.
Apply today and let’s talk.
