Position Overview
The Electric Purchaser plays a key role in making sure our technicians have the right materials at the right time. You’ll manage purchasing, vendor relationships, and material coordination to support a seamless sales-to-install process.
Key Responsibilities
1. Purchasing & Material Management
- Purchase and negotiate electric equipment, parts, and supplies from approved vendors.
- Request and compare vendor quotes to secure the best pricing and delivery timelines.
- Issue accurate and timely purchase orders.
- Forecast material needs based on project schedules, pipelines, and seasonal trends.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities, including volume purchases or vendor consolidation.

2. Vendor & Supplier Management
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with electric manufacturers and distributors.
- Monitor vendor performance for quality, cost, and reliability.
- Resolve issues related to deliveries, backorders, or warranty claims.
- Evaluate new supplier opportunities and negotiate favorable terms.
3. Coordination & Communication
- Work closely with technicians to meet project timelines.
- Provide regular updates on material availability, lead times, and delivery statuses.
- Coordinate technician schedules to align with our sales-to-install workflow.
- Order materials using POs, manage returns, and stage installations in designated bays.
4. Continuous Improvement & General Support
- Conduct monthly truck inspections to ensure proper maintenance and stocking.
- Coordinate monthly safety training sessions to promote safe workplace practices.
- Support company and department goals through additional tasks as assigned.
