American Traveler is hiring an experienced travel RN for a CVOR/OR Float Pool position at a Level I Trauma academic medical center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of CVOR experience and prior travel experience.

Large academic medical center with 1,000+ beds, operating a 56-bed OR (inpatient and outpatient) and 5 procedural rooms

Level I Trauma center designation

OR Float Pool – CVOR specialty with the ability to float within the OR (not between locations)

Adult patient population only; pediatric OR is a separate facility

Patient cases include open heart, transplant, trauma/neuro, general, ortho, GYN, urology, ENT, plastics, cardiothoracic, vascular, transplant (liver, renal, pancreas), robotic, hybrid rooms (cysto, bronch, and lead extraction), ambulatory ortho, burn, and hepatic-biliary

12-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Days worked during the week will vary based on unit need; a block schedule is not available

On-call is required and will be distributed in rotation with staff for equitable coverage

13-week contract

Active RN license – Tennessee (TN) or Compact license required

Current BLS certification required

Minimum 2 years of CVOR OR experience required

Ability to both scrub and circulate cardiac surgeries required

Prior travel nursing experience required

Complete COVID-19 vaccine series or a valid exemption required by start date

RNs will scrub and circulate cardiac surgeries including open heart, transplant, and a wide range of other case types
-
Call responsibilities are integrated into the staff rotation to ensure fair distribution among all travelers and staff

This is a high-acuity academic teaching environment with a broad and complex surgical caseload

First-time travelers are not eligible for this position; prior travel experience is required
