Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Wellness Support Specialist/Medication Technician to join our dedicated healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide essential medication management and wellness support to residents in a family style assisted living. Your expertise will help ensure safe medication administration, promote overall well-being, and support individuals with diverse needs such as dementia, and hospice care. Responsibilities:
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed protocols while adhering to medical documentation standards
- Monitoring and documentation of resident's vital signs
- Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care, wound care, insulin administration
- Maintain medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records)
- Support residents with daily activities related to senior care, memory care, hospice, dementia, and home care needs with compassion and professionalism
- Collaborate with nursing to coordinate medication administration
- Uphold patient confidentiality by strictly following HIPAA guidelines while managing sensitive medical information
- Prepare and cook meals for residents following FDA guidelines
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment for residents
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments with a focus on senior or disability care
- Knowledge of medication administration techniques
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems is highly
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and acute care procedures
- Experience working with individuals with cognitive impairments like Alzheimer’s or dementia is advantageous
- Ability to handle medical documentation accurately while maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA standards
- Excellent caregiving skills combined with a compassionate approach to patient-centered care
