Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Head Swim Coach to lead our aquatic training programs and inspire swimmers of all ages and skill levels. Responsibilities
- Design and implement engaging swim training sessions tailored to various skill levels, from beginners to advanced athletes
- Lead, motivate, and supervise coaching staff and assistant coaches to ensure consistent program delivery
- Oversee safety protocols, including lifeguard procedures, emergency response plans, and behavior management strategies
- Foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages teamwork, discipline, and personal growth among swimmers
- Coordinate with parents, school officials, and community partners to promote program participation and events
- Monitor swimmer progress through assessments, provide constructive feedback, and set achievable goals for each athlete
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, performance metrics, and safety incidents in compliance with organizational standards
Qualifications
- Proven experience in sports coaching with a strong background in swimming; previous head coaching roles preferred
- Lifeguard experience with current certification required; ability to respond swiftly in emergency situations
- Knowledge of teaching physical education, martial arts such as Karate or Judo, or other sports like basketball or cheerleading is advantageous
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children and adolescents while managing behavior positively
- Familiarity with health club or gym environments; experience in childcare or working with students is highly desirable
- Strong leadership skills combined with excellent communication abilities to motivate teams and engage stakeholders
- Certifications in swimming instruction or coaching are a plus; background in climbing or martial arts can enhance coaching versatility
