Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, Inspecting, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of mechanical/utility equipment. This role requires a proactive approach to equipment upkeep, ensuring operational efficiency and safety. The Maintenance Technician will play a vital role in supporting the ongoing functionality for the preventative maintenance of the facilities. Candidates with strong mechanical knowledge, experience with maintenance operations, and excellent problem-solving skills are encouraged to apply.
Main responsibilities
- Ensure all work performed is completed in a safe manner
- Complete safe work reports, and ensure any parts that are used are documented for reordering
- provide training support of peers and associates as requested / required
- Responsible for the preventative maintenance of the facilities
- Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot and repair mechanical/utility equipment
- Replace process operators when needed
- Direct contractors when situation dictates
- Keep the work environment in a clean state
- Accomplish other related tasks required by his function or his superior
Technical Requirements
- Pull and repack pumps packing, remove replace and align motors with gear boxes and pump
- Check and change oil levels in gearboxes
- Thread piping, cut to lengths, run fabricated piping using levels, squares and plum bobs
- Inspect, repair and replace bearings when needed
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment, such as grease, torqueing. replacing gaskets, bolts, nuts as needed understanding bolt sizes, wrench sizes, able to read tape measure, calipers, and other gauges
- Capability to learn process in rebuilding pumps, gearboxes, loading rack, actuated valves, manual bonnet valves

- Commitment to safety – must adhere to safety rules and regulations.
- Ability to provide clear directives and receive directives in the event of an emergency
- Strong decision making, problem solving, troubleshooting, and multi-tasking skills
- Excellent mechanical aptitude and ability
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn; and availability to be trained
- Must be able to work with minimal or no supervision
- Strong Work ethics with a team player mentality and a positive attitude - Ability to communicate effectively and professionally
Conditions
- Work environment is primarily on equipment located outdoors;
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds/23 kilograms;
- Must be able to work at heights as well as in confined spaces;
- Due to nature of business, hazards are present everywhere and must be aware of environment at all times.
- Available for overtime hours as required to maintain/ensure uptime.
- Uniforms and personal protective equipment supplied
Schedule
- Full time permanent - Monday to Friday and available occasionally on weekends when needed to ensure plant operation
- 6h-2h30 PM
Pay: $29.00 - $33.00 per hour
